This paper brings forth elements of the Enligthment project and their influence on body education, mainly the aspects of politeness and body's culture, in the modern pedagogy's ideas, considering the perspective of instrumentality. From a phenomenology of the body and its relation with the cognitive processes, we point out possible paths for the relations between body and education in the present times. Finally, we present indicators to think the knowledge of body in education based on reflections upon body education and the organization of knowledge in curricula.
