Na maneira usual de se obter os potenciais de uma carga em movimento, os potenciais de Liénard-Wiechert, toma-se como ponto de partida os potenciais retardados, expressos em termos de uma distribuição volumétrica de carga. Argui-se aqui que aqueles potenciais podem também ser obtidos diretamente dos potenciais retardados de uma carga pontual, corrigidos por efeitos do tipo Doppler, característicos de grandezas propagadas e que são devidos ao movimento do emissor em relação ao ponto de observação.

In the usual presentation, the potentials due to a moving charge, the Liénard-Wiechert potentials, are obtained from the retarded potentials expressed in terms of a volumetric charge distributions. It is argued that they may be also obtained from the retarded potentials of a moving point charge, corrected by Doppler like effects accompanying propagated entities, and caused by its motion in relation to the observation point.

O artigo refere-se à questão 'Quem cria o campo elétrico que move as cargas na corrente elétrica em fios?'. Através de modelo simples, mostra-se que uma distribuição de cargas, variando linearmente ao longo do fio e depositada na sua superficie, cria campo uniforme no seu interior. O modelo utilizado é o de um cabo coaxial fechado em ambas as extremidades, com potenciais convenientemente escolhidos em suas parades. Com este estudo, torna-se possível ilustrar a importante ligação conceitual entre a Eletrostática e s Eletrodinâmica, historicamente tão importante no desenvolvimento do Eletrogenetismo.

The article is aimed to answer the question 'Who creates the electric field inside a wire supporting an electric current?'. By means of a simple model it is shown that a surface charge distribution varying linearly along the wire creates an uniform electric field inside it. The utilized model is that of a closed at both ends coaxial cable, whose walls are kept at conveniently chosen potentials. This study allows us to bridge the way from Electrostatics to Electrodynamics, historically so important in the development of the electromagnetic science.

O funcionamento de uma pilha elétrica é modelado através de um poço duplo de potencial entre os quais age força de natureza físico-química em portadores ativos, preferenciando um dos sítios. Com isso, desenvolve-se uma diferença de potencial entre os mesmos, fonte da força eletromotriz. A circulação externa de carga causa diminuição da força eletromotriz através de mecanismo adequado. Calcula-se o seu valor em função da carga circulada e a cinética de recuperação em circuito aberto após ser submetida a breve curto-circuito.

The functioning of a battery is modeled through a potential double well in which a force of physico-chemical origin acts on charges, causing the population on one side side to increase in relation to the other. The electrical potential thus created is the source of an electro motive force. External charge circulation makes this electro motive force to decrease by means of an adequate mechanism. Its value as a function of the amount of circulated charge is calculated, as well as the kinetics of recovering after briefly short-circuiting it.

Mostra-se diretamente que a potência média irradiada por um sistema de dois dipolos oscilantes próximos, paralelos e em fase, é igual à potência mecânica média dissipada nos osciladores necessária para manter o movimento harmônico simples.

We show directly that the mean irradiated power from a system of two nearby parallel oscillators in phase is equal to the mean mechanical power supplied to both oscillators to mantain their harmonic motion.

Complex conductance, sigma*(f) = s¢(f)+isigma"(f), measurements of polyaniline/carnauba wax composites were carried out at room temperature in samples containing different amounts of PAni. While sigma"(f) ever grows as a function of the frequency f; s¢(f) was observed to vary as f n(n » 1) in the high frequency domain, and to be frequency-independent for lower frequencies. This is the quasi-universal behavior characteristic of conduction in a disordered medium. Superposed on this, another signal was observed to occur, and the whole impedance response was then analysed in an Argand Diagram, disclosing an electrode process in series with the bulk one. An equivalent conductance expression was used to explain such electrical behavior, in which the bulk properties of the composite were represented through the Random Free Energy Barrier model, while the composite-electrode interface by a simple parallel combination of a capacitor and a resistor. From the theoretical fittings it was concluded that the increase of PAni concentration acts in the sense of increasing not only the sample conductance, but also the bulk capacitance. The separation of the bulk and the interface contributions was then achieved.

Resolve-se o problema de uma carga pontual em presença de uma folha dielétrica fina, com o uso de imagens de cargas e dipolos cujos campos satisfazem as condições de continuidade do potencial e da componente normal do deslocamento elétrico nas superfícies da folha. Calcula-se, então, a força de atração resultante.

The problem consisting of a point charge placed in front of a thin dielectric foil is solved using images of charges and dipoles, which makes the continuity of the potential and of the normal component of the dielectric displacement to be satisfied at the plane boundaries of the foil. The attraction is then calculated.

Cálculo aproximado do potencial e da densidade de carga de um condutor quase cilíndrico eletrizado é realizado seguindo método desenvolvido por Maxwell em seu Treatise para condutores quaseesféricos. Com isso, é possível obter relações diretas entre densidade de carga e curvatura paracasos simples. O plano carregado, levemente corrugado, é também abordado.

An approximate treatment of the potential and of the charge density of a quasi-circular conductingcylinder is carried out along the line proposed by Maxwell in his 'Treatise' for quasi-spherical conductors. This allows us to establish relations between charge density and curvature in simplecases. The slightly corrugated charged plane is also treated.

Revisita-se o problema da camada limite viscosa sobre um perfil plano, derivando-se as equações de Prandtl e depois a de Blasius. Daí, através de procedimento simplificado, uma solução aproximada é obtida cuja precisão ombreia com aquela fornecida pelo conhecido método de von Kármán.

The viscous boundary layer problem over a plane is re-visited and the Prandtl system and the Blasius equation are derived. From the latter, a simplified solution is obtained which shows to be close to that generated by the well known von Kármán method.

Apresenta-se o sistema de equações que descreve consistentemente os estados quase-permanentes, campos e potenciais, abrangendo a eletrostática, a magnetostática e a lei de indução de Faraday. Mostra-se que ele é correto até a ordem de v² = c² e de wr = c² em que v e w são a velocidade e a aceleração tópicas das cargas, c a velocidade da luz e r a distância ao ponto considerado. Pode-se então obter o campo elétrico de uma carga em movimento nessa aproximação, o qual corrige o campo de Coulomb por termos dependentes da velocidade e da aceleração da carga. Mostra-se assim, como feito anteriormente por Ritz e O'Rahilly, que a indução eletromagnética pode ser atribuída à aceleração das cargas do circuito indutor, propiciando uma visão alternativa dessa interação, usualmente atribuída à variação do fluxo no interior do circuito.

The equations of the quasi-steady states, for the fields and the potentials, covering electrostatics, magnetostatics and the Faraday Induction Law, are given. They are correct to the order of v² = c² and wr = c²; v and w being the typical velocity and acceleration of the charges, c the speed of light and r the distance to a given point . This last fact allow us to obtain, in this approximation, the electric field of a moving charge, which corrects the Coulomb field by terms depending on the velocity and acceleration of the charge. Then, it may be shown, as done previously by Ritz and O Rahilly, that electromagnetic induction may be attributed to the acceleration of the charges of the inducting circuit, thus ensuing an alternative view of this interaction, usually attributed to flux variation enclosed by the circuit.

A solução aproximada do problema do movimento de projétil com resistência do ar quadrática na velocidade, obtida em 1719 por Johann Bernoulli, é comparada com soluções integradas numerica mente a partir de uma primeira integral analítica da velocidade horizontal em termos do ângulo que o vetor velocidade faz com a horizontal, e é verificada ser adequada, pelo menos até ângulos de tiro de até 20-. Com ela resultados são obtidos em alguns casos práticos de interesse (tênis, futebol e outros) que dão elementos ao professor de física na área, para delimitar o que de prático tem o seu ensino em que a resistência do ar é ignorada.

Comparing approximate solution of the ballistic problem with air resistance proportional to the square of the velocity, obtained by Johann Bernoulli in 1719, with numerical ones obtained through an analytical solution expressing the horizontal component of the velocity in terms of the angle between the tangent to the trajectory and the horizontal axis, it is found it to be sufficiently good for shooting angles so high as 20-. Results of practical interest are then calculated (football and tennis game among other cases) which may give elements to the physics teacher in this area, of knowing how good is his teaching usually ignoring air resistance.
